    Our next meeting of the 2008-2009 school year is Wednesday, November 12, with dinner starting at 6 pm. This month's speaker will be Dennis Gatlin from the Public Employees' Retirement Association (PERA). Curious about the status of the PERA retirement system? Have you been wondering what PERA invests in? Are PERA managers worried for the long-term future? Invest your time to hear answers to these and other questions.

Cost is: $22.00 for members and $25.00 for non-members, or, bring a friend, colleague or your significant other with you to enjoy the evening for $40.

** PDK members who bring three (3) or more new or lost souls (members who did not attend a meeting last year), will have their cover charge paid for!!

Scholarship Winners
Each year our local PDK Chapter 1205 selects two high school seniors who are planning on a career in teaching to be the recipients of a scholarship. The officers are honored to announce the 2007 PDK Scholarship Award winners:
  • Miss. Lisa Andrea Taylor, Mitchell High School, D-11
  • Mr. Davian Shacar Askew, Mesa Ridge High School, D-3



If you are interested in joining Phi Delta Kappa, there are three categories of membership. Please download the appropriate form, fill it out, and mail it to the address at the bottom of the form.
  • PDK Professional Membership for those actively employed in education.
  • PDK Senior Membership for members in good standing, 60 years or older, who are retired. (Can also be granted to a member with a permanent disability at any age with 10 years prior membership in good standing.)
  • PDK Emeritus Membership for those who are 65 and older, with 25 years of membership in good standing.
