Welcome to Phi Delta Kappa Chapter 1205



Upcoming PDK Meeting:
    The fourth meeting of the 2009-2010 school year will be WEDNESDAY night, March 10th, at the Sunbird restaurant from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

    We will order off their regular menu. We are instituting a $4 cover charge which will be used to support scholarships to at least one graduating high school senior who plans to enroll in a teacher education program.


Program:
    As usual, dinner will begin at 6 pm, followed by a discussion of "What is Working to Improve Academic Outcomes in the Pikes Peak Region?

    This will be an information sharing session to compare and contrast interventions such as response to Intervention (RtI), Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS), Authentic Assessment, continuous progress monitoring, and the longitudinal component of the Colorado State Assessment Program (CSAP)."

    CHAPTER 1205 IS PLEASED TO OFFER ITS MEMBERS & FRIENDS THE OPPORTUNITY TO EARN 0.5 CREDIT HOURS FOR ATTENDANCE AT 4 OUT OF OUR 5 PLANNED MEETINGS, THROUGH ADAMS STATE COLLEGE.


The location of our January PDK meeting is the Sunbird Restaurant.

FINAL PDK Meeting of the Year
    May 11, 2010 - Panel Discussion: Student Impressions of School Reform (What do students know and understand about efforts at reform? What are their opinions of the growing emphasis on charter schools? What are their ideas for improving instruction, graduations rates and teacher quality? Do students feel safe, and free from bullying or intimidation?)

If you are interested in joining Phi Delta Kappa, there are three categories of membership. Please download the appropriate form, fill it out, and mail it to the address at the bottom of the form.
  • PDK Professional Membership for those actively employed in education.
  • PDK Senior Membership for members in good standing, 60 years or older, who are retired. (Can also be granted to a member with a permanent disability at any age with 10 years prior membership in good standing.)
  • PDK Emeritus Membership for those who are 65 and older, with 25 years of membership in good standing.
